A simple cable protection for an electric lawn mower

Replacing a Halogen bulb with a LED one

A simple cable protection.

For certain reasons I prefer an electric lawn mower. They are easy to maintain, easy and fast to clean, run less noisier than gas powered mowers and let me do sports. The only annoyance is having to keep an eye on the cable. But one day I started thinking on this problem and found a simple and cheap solution. I don't own a golf course so every two weeks I plug in my earbuds and walk long straight lines forwards and backwards, mowing to the left. No circles and no turns. I didn't look for a buyable solution. I don't know if this is even offered.

The cablerun is less optimal suited and I need to find a larger round end fitting to prevent the cable from being cracked.

Replacing a Halogen bulb with a LED one

Using this modification in Germany's road traffic is not allowed. OK, let's do this mod. In my old bicycle lamp I replaced a 6 Volt halogen bulb with a proper LED bulb. But this LED or it's voltage regulator was getting very hot which is why it switches off. Firstly I tried to cool down the LED socket with a transistor heat sink, what worked, but in the end I bridged one of five battery slots to a resulting 4,8 Volt. The latter is safer for the LED's lifetime but both solutions will work. Additionally now I can charge all batteries in my four cell charger at once and no longer have to wait for the fifth single cell to charge. You decide.
